FLYERS: Bad Third Periods an Alarming Trend for Flyers

MAPLE LEAFS MAKE FLYERS LOOK SICK

…It goes back to the first game against Tampa Bay out of the All-Star Break. For whatever reason, the Flyers haven’t been able to recapture that “swagger” they had in the first half of the season. Perhaps teams are on to them? Perhaps other teams are hitting their stride? Maybe the Flyers aren’t as good as we thought?
GIVE IT A BREAK, PEOPLE. The Philadelphia Flyers are in a slump. It’s an 82-game season. These things happen, even to the best teams. The flu is going around the dressing room, and maybe a couple guys are playing under the weather. It’s not JUST the goaltending, and it’s NOT just the third period play, it’s many things contributing to this recent slide. In their last 13 games, the Flyers are 7-5-1. I know a few teams that would KILL right now to have that record, because they’d be in the Eastern Conference playoff picture! We’re freaking out because this team has lost 6 of their last 13. Not good, but really not that terrible. They have a chance to right the ship tomorrow against Buffalo and I think they will. One game at a time, get back into the rhythm. Two points, two points, two points.
