…It was one game. It happens. The Kings were a streaking team, coming off a huge confidence-building victory against the Washington Capitals the day prior, and had a lot of momentum coming in. The Flyers, on the other hand, hadn’t played since Thursday, and while the still went on to carry the play for the majority of the game, they fell up short. You’re not going to win every single game you play, even when you have a team like the Flyers do. It’s one of the great things about this league – the incredible parity. Of course, that’s not to say that the Kings are a weak team; by no means are they a slouch of an opponent. It just means that the Flyers could maybe deserve a victory based on the run of play and not get one, whereas another game they could be completely outplayed and outworked and somehow squeak out a victory.
It’s a good thing that there’s only one off-day for the Orange and Black before that rematch in Tampa. Hopefully they will be able to capitalize on their chances in that game and get back the two points they lost last night.
