PHILLIES: Lidge to Rehab at Lehigh Valley

To update my last post, a couple days ago I said that Brad Lidge was “progressing” with his rehab from off-season surgery at Single-A Clearwater. Now, that process is moving back to the state of Pennsylvania, where Lidge will be driving up the Northeast Extension at some point during the next 24 hours to start the next phase of his rehab with Triple-A Lehigh Valley for their next series against the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Lidge, who battled injuries and inconsistency all season last year, will most likely spend a week shuffling between Lehigh Valley and Double-A Reading, pitching every other day in an attempt to come back to Philadelphia at the start of the month of May.

Here is the press release that the Phillies and Ironpigs sent out about Lidge’s return to the Keystone state.

On another note, the Red Sox will also have a highly-regarded player rehabbing at Coca-Cola park this week, as Daisuke Matsuzaka will start for Pawtucket on Wed. night.

Hopefully this will help take attention off of the Phillies poor play of late..
