The Philadelphia 76ers have taken the final preparations to begin their training camp on September 29 at St. Joseph’s University. The team has announced that they will invite four free agent players to camp next week. Those players are former Temple star Dionte Christmas, former Virginia guard Sean Singletary, and free agents Brandon Bowman and Jared Reiner. These four players will join the 13 players under contract in training camp next Tuesday. They will be competiting for the two remianing contracts that the Sixers have available to offer. The NBA allows a team to have 15 players under contract, but only 12 on the active roster.
It is highly likely that Christmas will get one of those contracts, as he played with the combined 76ers/New Jersey Nets summer league team in Orlando this summer. Sean Singletary also has a good chance, as he has some NBA experience from last season. Both Brandon Bowman and Jared Reiner will have to perform extremely well if they are to get a contract offer from the Sixers after training camp.
