EAGLES: Cardinals Reportedly Interested in Kolb

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb has been a hot commodity around the NFL trade rumors as of recent. The Eagles backup, who head coach Andy Reid is listening to offers for, could be out of Philadelphia if the ‘Birds can get a first round draft pick.

According to reports from Comcast Sportsnet, the Arizona Cardinals are leading the charge for No. 4. The Cardinals reportedly contacted Reid and expressed interest in giving up a first round pick for the 27-year-old quarterback.

From CSN: According to Peter King of SI.com, one team is willing to offer a first-round pick for Kolb. A league source has told CSN’s Derrick Gunn that a number of teams have made significant offers for Kolb. The source wouldn’t confirm or deny whether a first-round pick was offered.”

Other teams that are in need of a quarterback are: Vikings, Redskins, Panthers, 49ers, Seahawks, Cardinals, Bills, Dolphins, Browns, Bengals, Broncos, Raiders, Jaguars, Titans. The problem? Most of these teams, like the Cardinals, have top ten picks that may be worth more than Kolb.

If the reports are true, this could be a heck of an opportunity for the Eagles. Arizona has the fifth overall pick in the draft. I doubt they’re willing to give a pick that high for Kolb, but one can always dream.

FLYERS: The Secret of the Slushie

A FLYERS SECRET

“No other teams in hockey use the slushies, so don’t share our secret until we win the Cup.”

- Flyers Trainer Jim McCrossin

…Great, interesting read. By far the craziest story concerning the Flyers that I’ve read in a while, but hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

FLYERS: Ovechkin Won’t Play Against Flyers Tomorrow Night

…I get resting your best players up before the playoffs so they are ready for the stretch run, but why rest AO against the Flyers – a team that, with a win, the Caps would match at the top of the Eastern Conference? I’m not complaining, but it still seems a bit weird to me.

FLYERS: Team is Jacked for a Pair of Big Games This Week

FLYERS BUZZED FOR GAMES AGAINST CAPITALS AND PENGUINS

…This week’s games are obviously huge and it’s a very good sign that the Flyers realize that and know that their best hockey had better be on the horizon. The potential exists for the Flyers to pull four points ahead of the Capitals with two games in hand, while also going further in front of the Penguins, the lone team that stands in their way this point when it comes to an Atlantic Division title.

I agree with Carchidi in that Bobrovsky will likely get one, if not both of these contests, and will probably be the man in between the pipes come playoff time for the Orange and Black. The Caps will be red hot coming in on Tuesday, and it will be up to the Flyers to stop them in their tracks. I have a bad feeling – I SINCERELY hope I’m wrong – but I have a bad feeling that these next two games will show the Flyers’ glaring defensive weakness without having Chris Pronger in the lineup against some of the game’s best players. We shall see though; one game at a time.
